Dr. Vasant Lad

Dr. Vasant Lad is a renowned Ayurvedic physician and teacher of Ayurveda who served as Medical Director of the Ayurveda Hospital in Pune, India, and as a Professor of Clinical Medicine at the Pune University College of Ayurvedic Medicine. Founder and Director of the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, NM, Dr. Lad is the author of a number of Ayurvedic books.
Dr. Robert Svoboda

Dr Robert E. Svoboda is the first Westerner to graduate from an Ayurvedic college (1980) and be licensed to practice Ayurveda in India. Living in India 1973-80 and 1982-86, he was tutored in Ayurveda, Yoga, Jyotisha and Tantra by his mentor, the Aghori Vimalananda.
Dr Svoboda travels the world lecturing, consulting, teaching and writing. He has written many authoritative books and his knowledge and experience within the spiritual
traditions of India is rare, profound, and truly enlightened.
Dr. John Douillard

Dr. John Douillard is the author of The 3-Season Diet, Perfect Health For Kids, The Encyclopedia of Ayurvedic Massage, and Body, Mind, and Sport, which has sold over 100,000 copies and has been printed in six languages. He also co-produced 3 Ayurvedic DVDs with GAIAM on Detox, Weight Loss and Stress Releif. Dr. Douillard has been teaching Ayurvedic medicine, natural health, fitness, and nutrition internationally for 21 years.
Dr. Douillard received his Ayurvedic training in India and holds a Ph.D. in Ayurvedic medicine from the Open International University. He is the former Director of Player Development for the New Jersey Nets in the NBA. He co-directed Deepak Chopra’s Ayurvedic center for eight years and has trained over 2000 Western doctors in Ayurvedic medicine.
Dr. Claudia Welch

Dr Claudia Welch, Doctor of Oriental Medicine, began studying Ayurvedic medicine under the personal supervision of Dr. Robert Svoboda in 1987.
She pursued her interest for 3 years in India, and continued her education while working with Dr Vasant Lad at the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, NM for 7 years.
She has studied India’s sister sciences Sanskrit and Jyotish and graduated from Hart De Fouw’s Advanced Jyotish course.
She is currently on the teaching faculty of both The Ayurvedic Institute and Southwest Acupuncture College in Albuquerque, from which she graduated in 1997. She also teaches at the Kripalu School of Ayurveda in Lenox, MA.
Claudia has lectured on Eastern Medicine internationally. Her goal as a teacher is to bring honor to her outstanding teachers and mentors through sharing the joy of learning Ayurveda. She maintains a private practice in Albuquerque.
Baxter Bell, MD

Baxter Bell, MD, has been actively deepening his understanding of yoga and relaxation since making the stress-reducing move from a career as a busy family doctor to that of a yoga teacher and medical acupuncturist. Baxter is featured in Yoga Journal's DVD, “Yoga for Stress,” and has written articles for Yoga Journal, Yoga for Everybody, and International Journal of Yoga Therapy.
Baxter is also involved in the integration of therapeutic applications of yoga with Western medicine, lecturing to health care professionals around the country, as well as adding Hatha Yoga asanas and pranayama to his care of patients in his medical acupuncture practice.
Scott Blossom
Scott Blossom is a Traditional Chinese Medical practitioner, yoga therapist, and Ayurvedic Consultant. He has been studying yoga for over fourteen years and teaching yoga for nine. He holds a degree in biology and has extensively studied anatomy, physiology, and Ayurveda (East Indian traditional medicine) with Dr. Robert Svoboda. In his yoga classes, workshops and teacher trainings Scott focuses primarily on yoga and Ayurveda, Shadow Yoga as taught by Zhander Remete, and yoga therapy. He teaches from a multidimensional perspective, integrating contemporary western and classical eastern concepts of healing and balance.
